Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, narrating a tale of "buccaneers and buried gold". First published as a book on 14 November 1883 by Cassell & Co. This edition was published by Charles Scribner's Sons, 1911, and the cover art by N.C. Wyeth. Newell Convers Wyeth (October 22, 1882 October 19, 1945), was an American artist and illustrator and a student of Howard Pyle. He illustrated 112 books and did over 3000 paintings.
